C2N has a long experience in the growth of III-V semiconductor heterostructures by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). This family of materials is highly versatile for shaping and manipulating waves of different nature such as photons, phonons, electrons, plasmons, polaritons (mixed light-matter particules). To that end, within the POEM platform, we grow active materials, quantum wells or quantum dots, embedded inside structures for wave confinement, like ridge waveguides, Bragg mirrors and microcavities. Various functionalities may be sought for, such as high quality factor cavities for quantum optics or opto-mechanics, or ultra-short periods superlattices for THz acoustics phonons.
We provide here a few examples of actual and past projects mostly developed in collaboration with other teams in France or worldwide. We enjoy very much collaborating on new projects.
