Gilles Patriarche received his PhD in Physics in 1992 on the study defects in II-VI semiconductors grown on GaAs substrates. He joined CNET Bagneux in 1993 as a research engineer, working on transmission electron microscopy. In 2001, he joined the CNRS and integrated its Laboratoire de Photonique et de Nanostructures (LPN, UPR 20), now the Centre de Nanoscience et de Nanotechnologies (C2N, UMR 9001 - CNRS Université Paris-Saclay). His research focuses on the study of the composition and structural properties of materials at the nanometer scale, using a broad array of transmission electron microscopy techniques. A non-exhaustive list of the materials he studies:
III-V semiconductor heterostructures for photonics
III-V semiconductor nanowires
II-VI materials
Colloidal quantum dots
Metal-organic frameworks
He is a founding member of the ANR LABEX project and is involved in two of its three legs:
Nanotem, the structural and chemical nano-analysis platform of TEMPOS
Nanomax, the in-situ growth platform of TEMPOS
He has numerous collaborations, both in France and internationally. He is the author and co-author of more than 550 publications.
