Growth of Nanomaterials

A strong modeling activity supports our basic investigations on semiconductor nanowire growth : formation of axial heterostructures, statistics of nucleation events mediating the formation of each monolayer, complex nanowire growth kinetics.

These basic studies now benefit from a unique instrument installed at Ecole Polytechnique : a TEM for real-time observation of crystal growth. The C2N Materials Department is a key actor of this project called, which is a part of the . We performed the first MBE growth experiments ever reported in such an instrument
